Puerto Vallarta is one of the friendliest and most diverse beach destinations with something for everyone. It was once a small fishing village until the movie "Night of the Iguana" was filmed here with Richard Burton, Deborah Kerr, Ava Gardener, Sue Lyon etc., but now it is a world class resort destination. It is small enough to walk the city and but has the characteristics you would expect in a resort community. PV has spectacular ocean and jungle views with many different beaches ringing the largest bay in Mexico, great dining, a variety of entertainment, wonderful golf and tennis courts, jungle and bay excursions, excellent shopping and is known for its many art galleries and famous art walks on Wed eves.

The perfect place for your vacation of a lifetime!

PV is blessed with tropical mild weather and in the winter the average temperature reaches a high of slightly more than 80 degrees Starting in May, the weather starts to climb to the high 80's and low 90's and remains there until high season starts again in December. From mid-June through September, it can rain for a couple of hours in the evening but the sun shines the remainder of the day. The summer can be a nice time to visit if you wish to have a quieter less tourist driven visit. This beach front condo has air conditioners in each bedroom and fans in every room. The ocean breezes are very cool and refreshing, the pool is adjacent to the terrace and the ocean beach is within steps of the front gate. If you are a guest, be sure and read the information book in the condo.

GOLF:  There are some great golf courses located in this area and any taxi can transport you to the closest one within 15 minutes. In addition, there if a world famous Jack Nicklaus course within 30 kilometers of the condo.

DINING:  If you are seeking an upscale dining experience or a rustic Mexican flavored meal, PV has over 1,800 restaurants to please any palate or budget. Our activities list names our favorites.

ARRIVAL:  The Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport is located fours miles N of downtown (central) and their are buses or taxis at the ready to bring you to the condo at reasonable rates. For help in finding the most affordable airport transportation, you will want to read our unique activities list (for tenants only). A passport is now required to enter the country. When you enter, you will be given a tourist Card which must be kept in a safe place and turned in when you leave the airport. Non-US citizens need to check with a Mexican Consulate for possible visa requirements.

CURRENCY:  Pesos are used and the easiest way to get cash is to either bring them with you or visit a bank to exchange dollars for pesos. There are many ATM machines located around down where you can use your VISA for a cash advance given you have a password. See Yahoo Finance section for the current exchange rate.

WATER:  PV is one of the very few cities in Mexico to have their water certified as safe to drink though most people will drink bottled water and rest assured that major restaurants will serve you purified water and ice made from the same. In smaller restaurants, you would be better off asking for a bottle of water than accepting a glass of the same.

TAXIS & BUSES:  There are more taxis than one could envision (over 1,000) and you can flag one down just about anywhere. Always ask the fare before entering the taxi - fares are regulated but there is always the possibility of encountering a rogue driver.  Buses are also everywhere and in late 2007, you could ride in a zone for as little as 5 pesos (about 45 cents).
